Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

If a Mother and Father has joint custody of a child, the father being primary care giver, does he have to involve the mother in major decisions or issues concerning the child, or can he make decisions and follow through with them without the mother's knowledge?

Without knowing the terms of your specific Order, it's not possible to answer that question. Typically though, "joint custody" means equal decision-making ability.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
