Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

I am an unwed mother of a wonderful 3 yr old and have been living with his father for about 5 years. The father and I never married and live in South Carolina. We have been separated but still living together for the past 7 months and because of recent events he left the home and gave me no idea to where he is, he is also not answering phone calls either. It has only been a few days but I am curious if this irrational act will help me get full custody of my son. His father is not the most pleasant around him and I think it would be in my child's best interest. Please help me.

There are many factors that come into play in custody cases, including each parent's contact with and conduct around the child.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
