Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina

I have been dating this guy when we started he asked me what was one dream thing i wanted to do .. i told him i drove for a taxi limo company n would love to start my own by the down payment on the insurance is so much, he asked what we gotta do to make this happen.. told him i needed $1,500 he said ok we gonna make this happen he wired me the money... i started the business... we talked about him coming home from his job overseas..not military and getting married.. he told me he had no fb account when we met last november august i found he lied had a page.. placed that he was in a relationship with this young lady and he was coming home and they were gonna be together.. said to her all the things he said to me i am the one... for him and nobody else.. etc well i copied his wall.. where he sent her flowers for valentine's other gifts as well all documented so he could not deny.. told him i was not going to say anything to her .. that's what he want he got it he has been talking to her since january.. the whole time we were suppose to be in a relationship as well.... of course he cursed me out threaten me for going into his information.. and wants his money back that he gave me... it was never said it was a loan.. and i never said i would repay him i have every receipt of anything he has sent to me..he has threaten to sue me if i don't pay him.. that's my concern judge what rights to i have against this cheater who can't man up he got busted and he is wrong....thank you ...never got through on steve harvey so i am trying this approach..thanks for any help that you might be able to give.. the business is not making much .. i work another job and do all the driving on weekends myself at 60 that's not easy but god makes it happen sincerely jem

Based on what you wrote, I see no distiction between your personal relationship and the money. They are two separate issues. He says it was a loan and you say its a gift. I would recommend setting the personal and romantic feelings aside and try to talk it out with him and reach an agreement. Filing suit on this kind of a case for this amount of money is usualy a terrible headache and far more stress and time consuming than people want to deal with. Do not take any legal action or make any sound legal decisions without consulting with an attorney who can get more details than is in your question. These are horrible cases to deal with, usually don't justify the money for a lawyer, so a simple one on one conversation might help. I wish you well
