Legal Question in Traffic Law in South Carolina

Careless and Wreckless

Please inform me of the SC law, if you are convicted of careless and wreckless. The officer stated this would add 6 points to my insurance, if I am found guilty. I had the front tire of my motorcycle about 4-6 inches off of the pavement to receive this citation in Myrtle Beach. Is this a normal citation that is given for motorcycle riders...and if you do not hire an attorney and are found guilty, that this can increase your insurance by a 6 point penalty? I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Re: Careless and Wreckless

Reckless carries six points. Careless has not points. These tickets are common for bring the front tire off the ground. A six point violation will usually affect a person's insurance. Sometimes these can be won at trial. You should consult with an attorney. Good luck.
