Legal Question in Traffic Law in South Carolina

speeding ticket

I received a speeding ticket while driving to work last semester during a football game. I was not speeding, and the cop did not pull me over until two traffic lights past where he claimed i had been speeding. He was very rude when pullin me over, and I think he may have done so because I have a fraternity sticker on my truck(which is older and could not have gone as fast as he claimed I was going up the hill)What can I do?

Re: speeding ticket

What ever you decide to do it is strongly recommended that you retain an attorney to represent you. You have three choices. One, you can pay the ticket and be done with it. It doesn't sound like that is what you want however, so you will probably go with choices two or three. Your second choice is to try to negotiate with the police officer and/or solicitor for a reduced ticket. Your third choice is to go to trial. Good luck. Call or email if you have any other questions.
