Legal Question in Workers Comp in South Carolina

I was denied benefits for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I have gone to 3 different doctors and been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I was scheduled for surgery and it was cancelled because the insurance company had not heard from the doctor. Then it was rescheduled and cancelled again because one of the doctor's said it wasn't related to my job. I have been doing administrative work for 6 years. I work on a computer, type, write daily, and tear packing slips. I do a lot of repetitious work with my right wrist. I was paid by the Workman's Comp. Insurance company for mileage back and forth to the doctor and for a wrist splint. Do you think I am entitled to have surgery, have Worker's Comp. pay for it and pay me while I am out of work?

It sounds like you should be entitled to the surgery and to be paid. However, there are some things in your case that I would need to know. I have a number of questions about all these different doctors and especially the one that said it wasn't related to your job. This might be a situation where you would need to have an independent doctor do an examination and then have an administrative hearing. Your welcome to call if you want to try and sort this out.
