Navy Punishment
My boyfriend was charged with petty theft last weekend for stealing a glass from a bar. He has been accepted to the Naval Engineer Corp. but dosn't actually go to Officer Traing Camp until December. Is he going to be kicked out of the Navy if this dosn't settle out of court?

This should not keep him out of the Navy, but I recommend doing 3 things at once:
1. He should consult with his recruiter to find out the best way to handle this from a Navy perspective;
2. He should consult an experienced criminal lawyer to explore the entry of a "no contest" or "Alford" plea to the charge as they are not admissions of guilt, and;
3. He should make sure that the bar is paid for its losses or the item replaced or whatever it is that will take care of them.
