Legal Question in Immigration Law in Syrian Arab Republic

I have to answer this question by yes or no .Can you help me? The question is

.Have you ever been charged, arrested or convicted of any offense or crime?

My wife Claimed and reported to the police that I hit her.

( but I did not sit in front of the judge, I wasn't arrested, and before the time of the Court my wife dropped the case, I dont know the police system in that country. but they took my fingerprint after the case was dropped . I have a paper from the court says the case was dropped. I am not living in this country any more. This is not my country I was working there with government contract. I have lived in that country for two years after this case normally.

Do I have a record now? What kind of record? Do they have the right to do so(taking my fingerprints ) if the case was dropped? What is your advice? Was this a crime? What should I answer? Does this case affect my immigration visa?

Please help

It appears that you were charged with a crime (even if charges were later dropped and you were not convicted). Whether you were also arrested, it's not clear from your post.

What immigration case are you asking about?

I suggest you consult a lawyer for a case-specific advice.
