Failure to appear on a Class A Misdemeanor or a felony is a Class E felony.

Failure to appear on a Class B or C Misdemeanor is a Class A misdemeanor.

While it is perfectly possible that your boyfriend will be picked up in Texas and brought back to Tennessee by extradition, Tennessee often will not spend the money to extradite a Defendant from so far away on only a misdemeanor violation of probation.

To be blunt, his biggest danger is one very angry bail bondsman who may sent his bounty hunters out to Texas to "firmly" get possession of you boyfriend and return him to Tennessee. They tend to be a lot less gentle and professional than law enforcement officers.
