Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Co-signed on car, Now he isnt paying his car note.

We are both listed on his car title and now he doesnt pay his car note on time and I get a notice in the mail every month or a call from the car company. I have told them where they can find the car but they never do anything and continue to call me because im a co-signer. This is killing my credit and could potentially hurt me in getting a new job.

I live in Mississippi and he lives in Memphis. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem.

I am afraid the only way to get the bill collector off your back, short of filing bankruptcy, is to pay the bill. You may want to speak with a debtor's rights attorney for other possible suggestions. Best of luck.
