Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Out of state legal services

My sister lives in Michigan, her son and his father in TN. She just received a Motion for Final Order with Notice of Hearing. The father does not want her to be able to visit her when she comes done or talk with him on the phone. The father is also wanting the mother to reimburse him for his lawyer fees. First of all can he stop her from seeing and talking to him, and does she have to pay for his lawyer fees? Also, she does not have any money to hire a lawyer and is having trouble finding one on legal aid (?). Is there anyway she can fight this on her own? I live in TN also and will help her the best I can. How do we get started with the court papers and everything. Court date is sometime in April.

Re: Out of state legal services

Your sister is really in trouble and if she does not hire a lawyer or at least make some sort of appearance, an order will likely get entered with out her participation and she will then have to hire a lawyer to try to undo what has been done. It is much cheaper to hire a lawyer on the front end. Please do not let her go through this without representation.
