Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Tennessee

Juvenile Petition

I have been served with a petition for a ''fight'' my son had in school. The kid punched him in the throat and my son just pinned him to the ground. By the time teachers came out of class rooms all they seen was him holding the kid down.

Now I have a petition to go to court am I intitled to a court appointed attorney if I can not afford one? I tired looking up the TN Section 37-1-108 but of course it seems its top secret.

Re: Juvenile Petition

You are only entitled to appointment of counsel for a criminal matter. Are you being prosecuted for juvenile delinquency or assault or some other criminal matter? Who is prosecuting you? The parents of the child or the state of Tennessee?
