lease

my roomate wants to move out with a boyfriend. we signed a year lease with 6 months left on it. can she do this or does she have to pay her part of the lease off. also does she still have to pay her half of the bills till the end of the lease.

IS THERE A WRITTEN LEASE? DID SHE SIGN IT? THEN SHE IS OBLIGATED BY CONTRACT LAW TO PAY THE LANDLORD UNDER THE LEASE. THIS DOESN'T HELP YOU THOUGH BECAUSE THE LANDLORD WILL BE LOOKING TO YOU TO PAY THE ENTIRE LEASE AMOUNT. TELL HER TO STAY PUT AND PAY HER PART OF THE LEASE OR THE LANDLORD COULD SUE BOTH OF YOU FOR UNPAID RENT.
