Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Tennessee

I am wanting to start a type of book club where i give out (via email or podcast) a small part of the book each day. Is there anyway to make this not break copyright laws? Could I be doing it for education purposes? Or could I have a website where the excerpt is posted only for a certain amount of time so they never have the full book? It would of course be all non-profit.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. Being non-profit is no defense to copyright infringement. The "fair use" defense is very limited - and it's only a defense. That is, when you get sued for copyright infringement, you can try to raise it. Consult with a good intellectual property or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
