Legal Question in Veterans Law in Tennessee

Hearing Loss

I aws a Gunners Mate in the Navy and a Second Class Diver.I had a fungus infection in my left ear and tear duct and had to have enzymes injected into the tear duct.I later went to a Veterans Hospital and they gave me a hearing test and hearing aids for both ears. The lab gave me a form to take to room 25 and submit for disability because of the jobs i performed in service and the tinnitus which is very bad.The claim was later denied.I put in twelve years for my country and was Honorably Discharged.

Re: Hearing Loss

You have to request all of your medical records. Of the disability claims that the VA denies over 80% of them are over turned on appeal. There is a very good book that you need to get and read about disability claims. The Veteran's Survival Guide by John D. Roche

You can get it from amazon.com

You should seek help from the one of the Disabled Vet associations.

Re: Hearing Loss

You need to refile a claim to the VA through one of the service organizations such as PVA or DAV. They can properly present the claim and more than likely be sucessful in your behalf.

Good luck!
