Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Is will still valid?

My grandmother originally left everything to me and my brother and not my dad. My dad found out and my grandmother tore up her copy of the will but never told her lawyer. She has since passed and the lawyer has the original will. Can my dad contest the will since she tore it up in front of him? Since my grandmother never told the lawyer is the original will still valid?

Re: Is will still valid?

Tearing up her copy but not the original involves a question of intent. This would require retaining a lawyer to argue your case because there are two sides to this issue. Did she or did she not intend to revoke the Will?
