Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Texas

exsponges

The Judge said after I finished my probation, for a concealed handgun violation, he would have the charge exsponged. I would also like to know how to get the arrest exsponged. I got turned down for a teaching position because the arrest is still on my record. This happened in 1998.

Re: exsponges

the answer depends on whether you were placed on deferred adjudication. if so, you can obtain an order for non-disclosure. The legislature just changed the statute to allow you to say you've never been arrested, if the record is expunged.

you have to file a petition with the court to accomplish this; the petition should be filed in the court where your case was.

good luck.
