Re: Recorded phone conversations

In Texas, yes. As long as not disqualified on other grounds, such conversations can be admissable. It is not unlawful to record any conversation to which you are a party, even if the person with whom you are having the conversation is unaware that it is being recorded.

Re: Recorded phone conversations

Under certain situations phone conversations can be recorded if all parties do not know of the conversation. The issue of whether the evidence is admissible in court is entirely different, and depends upon the facts of the case and what the recording is intended to demonstrate. I just found it and it seems fairly well-written, giving a state-by-state description of state and federal laws, the requirements, and penalties that may apply.
