Legal Question in Technology Law in Texas

I harrassed someone using an anonymous email web site. This person is evading Tax and doing other illegal activities. There were NON-THREATENING emails (telling the person that I will report to the IRS, district attorney about him and his wfe and insulting) and there were about 8 over an 8 month period with the most recent being in the past two weeks. The person who received the emails found out it was me through my place of work (dynamic IP address). They are talking about a criminal suit and/or restraining order. Do they have a case against me? If so, would any lawyer be that interested in taking it given there was no physical threat of any kind.

Come on now, you're wishful thinking if you imagine that you can escape liability just because there was no physical harm. What about reputational harm? Invasion of privacy harm? Defamatory statements made against the person, the person's business, his family? Tresspass? Nuisance? Are you getting the idea? (This list of different causes of action that you might be held liable under is a long one). Of course your victim has a case and you can bet there will be attorneys who will be interested in taking your victim's case.

Why would you do something like this in the first place? What were you thinking?
