Car Title Loan Collection

I am behind on payments on a title loan i took out in new mexico. i recently had to move to texas, and now the collectors are saying i can be charged with a 4th degree felony of fraud. true false, help!

have them put it in writing as it is probably not true and is a violation of fair debt collection practices...but if not in writing, who will believe you??

With all due respect to Mr. Mcleaish, they will never put anything in writing. They will just continue to bait you on this because they can see you squirm. I suggest you buy a tape recorder and next time they call, tape the conversation. Then if you want to see them squirm, tell them to wait a minute while you play it back to them (it's OK, tell them your brother-in-law said so). Then ask them if this sounds like their voice. I betcha a nickel they hang up and never call you again. They might file suit, but they won't call you any more. Good Luck.
