Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

How do I respond to a lawsuit

I have been sued by a collector who bought a credit card debt and have to provide a written response to the court. Can I write the letter myself or do I need a lawyer to write it?

You can file an answer yourself but if you want to improve your chances of prevailing, it is recommended that you hire a lawyer. There are probably discovery requests such as Admissions attached to the petition which need to be answered as well. These cases are defensible if you hire an attorney who is experienced in these type cases.
