assult with bodily injury

my father was arrested recently for assult, he was having a party at his house and they all got in a fight he was the only one arrested but he was also the only one with injury. how should he plea? what should we do? any help would be great.

You should get him a lawyer. No one should ever go into a criminal courtroom without an attorney. A defendant is at the mercy (of which there is little) of the court, when in fact the court rules by the law, not sympathy. If his court date comes up, and he does not have a lawyer, he should ask for a continuance to get one. Most courts are lenient in this regard, and will give him another 30 days. If he is indigent, the court will appoint him a lawyer -- but do not expect to get much attention from a court-appointed lawyer. Good luck.
