Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I am being charged with 4 lbs of marijuana possession and its my first offense. The lawyer I'm thinking of hiring would like for me to get letters of recommendation from teachers, professors, community service, etc. but I would like to know if there is anything else I can do to prepare my defense? I would like to still have a future so I'd like to know what I can do to help my defense in possibly getting deferred adjudication so I can still work with children.

When you pay a lawyer, then you need to trust that lawyer and follow that lawyer's advice. If you do not feel you are getting adequate advice, hire another lawyer.
