Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication

I was arrested for Criminal Mischief ( Class A Misdemeanor)in 2004, when I went to court. I was put on Deferred Adjudication for 1 year. I completed my probation teams with no problem. I know a Class A Misdemeanor cannot be expunged, but since I was on Deferred Adjudication, I was never convicted. So does that mean I am still eligible to be a police officer, and to be able to buy fire arms? Also what can be done to get it off my record or at least hide it from Employers?

Re: Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication

You can get an order of non-disclosure. This will seal the record from potential employers, but not 23 listed government agencies which will still have access to the record. You should check the individual recruitment and admissions policies of various law enforcement agencies, as to their policies.
