Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I discovered in a google search of my name that I was on the warrant list of Potter Co, TX for Theft of Services Class B. I know that I have been a victim of identity theft as I have never been to Potter Co. TX and I was in and still remain overseas since the warrant was issued 1 May 2002.

I contacted the distric attorney's office for furthur details and found the person was never arrested or booked but they have an AKA that is not me but the vitals match my info. that's all they know and all I know.

Here's the question I am a military contractor, I have frequent security and background checks and this has never come up, but at the same time I would like to know the best way to clear this from my name and is there a point where it will just fall off administratively or by statue?

Thank you

Probably your best option is to have an expunction (unless the DA would agree otherwise).

Unfortunately as a victim of identity theft you will probably be putting out fires like this for some time.

I suggest you consult with a local attorney to try to handle this for you.

I am an Austin Accident Attorney and don't normaly handle this type of case, let me know if you would like my help in finding an attorney for you in Potter County, just give me a call: 512-478-8080.

Good Luck!
