Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

does it show it has been dismissed

my fiance and i were BOTH arrested for assault at the same time in december. we posted bail and got lawyers. our lawyers got the case dismessed in janurary. we got our bail money back but now i'm trying to find a job and was wondering if this situation could hurt me. neiman marcus is doing a background check as we speak. and a lawyer wrote back Yes, eventhough the case is dismissed, the arrest and the dismissal are both on your record. Your record will show that you were arrested and then it will show that the case is dismissed. The only to remove it is to file an expungement which is basically a lawsuit whereby you sue all of the governmental agencies that have your fingerprints, photo, and/or information pertaining to the arrest. The filing fee alone usually runs some where around above $250.00. but how do i know that it really shows that it has been dismissed. what if the government screwed up. and how can this hurt me in my job search

Re: does it show it has been dismissed

It will not show it has been dismissed.

Your criminal record will show that you were arrested however there was a not conviction for your arrest.

This can be removed by having your record expunged.

If my office can be of any further help feel free to contact us.
