Re: Adult Films

The relevant federal statute with which your client will need to comply is 18 USC 2257. This statute details the recording requirements for model proof of age and age verification by the content producer.

There are other state and local laws that would apply as well. If the films are to be sold in the general area in which they are produced, it would also be essential to research the community standards of the potential markets. Each jurisdiction may define obscenity according to local community standards.

There are also contractual issues relating to what can and cannot be paid for in contract. Model contracts and releases must be carefully constructed.

Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this or other issues further.

A good place for you to start is 18 USCA 2257, which has the record keeping requirements for actors and models for these types of endeavors. You will probably want to check local codes and state registration requirements.
