Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Texas

''Partnership Breach of Contract''

I was in a 50/50 contract partnership with a local financial group for a movie project. The group ran out of funds and was not able to help me finish the project. I went out on my own to find another financial backer and did. While I was out of town, the New Backers brought a check to pay for the finishing of the project. The 1st Group declined the check and told them that they did not believe the poject was good enough to finish or for editing and dropped the project. I found a company to edit the project on a deferred contract and now the 1st group wants to come back and demand a copy of the finished project that they dropped a month ago. Are they in Breach of contract and do I own them anything?

Thank you

Re: ''Partnership Breach of Contract''

It sounds like you may have some causes of action against them. I would have to review your paperwork, however, to see what rights you have.
