Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My boyfriend pays court ordered child support through the AG's office. State of Texas. He son is special needs and gets SSI. My boyfriend also sends a check directly to the child's mother. I have suggested that he send the extra money to the AG's office. His ex doesn't want him to. She says that it will affect the SSI check. Where should my boyfriend send the extra money each month?

The money he is sending her directly is a gift.

I assume he was ordered to pay through the San Antonio Child Support Disbursement Unit. If so, then he must pay that money or be held in contempt by the court.

I would send all money through the CSDU in order to get credit for it.
