Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my childs father is married, he is not paying child support through the system but pays me cash in hand. If something happens to him, of course I will not be receiving any money at all. Should he put the child in life insurance and if so should it be under the same policy as his wife and family or should it be with a different company?

Since you are not married you need to go to court and establish his legal paternity by an order signed by the judge. DNA testing will need to be done. Without a court order, he is a "stranger" to this child. A judge usually orders that the child be put on his life insurance if he makes a very good annual income - otherwise, you cannot force the man to add the child to his life insurance. You need to get child support established. Talk to an attorney in your county about helping you with this.
