Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have been divorced for 2 years. I got the house in the divorce. The house is now paid off. My mother is the bank on the house. She want to give me the deed on the house free and clear. Is there any papper work that needs to be done to remove my X's name from the papper work?

The final decree of divorce will serve as a muniment of title for all property exchanged in the divorce. You can ask your ex for a special warranty deed, which you can file with the county land records and that will remove him from the chain of title. If he won't cooperate, you can file a certified copy of your final decree with the land records instead. But at $4 per page, that might be expensive, which is why I suggested the special warranty deed first.
