Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My elderly father informed me last year that he legally disowned my sister and I (both adults) to ensure that we would not contest his will, in which he is leaving everything to his new wife. He says he has no issues with us but that is estate planner recommended this and it was common estate planning procedure in the state of Texas. He never asked me to sign anything so I don't even know what the paperwork looks like. I'm not interested in his will but have many questions on what this means and the implications. Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Disinherited means that he is not leaving anything to you in his Will. All his property and assets will go to his new wife, you and your sister will get nothing. That is NOT a common estate planning tactic and his estate planner did not recommend it. He just wants to cut you out of his Will and doesn't have the nerve to tell you that.

That's all it means.
