Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Where can I find Pro Se Step Parent Adoption Forms for Fort Bend County ,TX?

The biological father has already signed termination papers and they are waiting in court for the adoption to be filed. He agrees to the adoption. I just need all documents that need to be files and maybe steps to when to file. Like a packet they give you when you handle a divorce on your own. I have handled mine on my own. I do not plan on hiring a attorney. It's not a option.

You can go to a law library and try to figure it out using the TX Family Practice Manual forms.

The step-parent will need a background check to make sure they are not avoiding going to jail and/or a registered sex offender. Plus a social study needs to be done. There is normally an attorney appointed to represent the interests of the child that you need to pay for.

This is not an easy legal matter to handle yourself (even newly licensed attorneys struggle with step-parent adoptions) but you are free to try to do it yourself.

I know that I hire an "expert" when I need dental work, car repair or having a plumbing problem. I don't try to "fix" things myself. But, you are free to do it on your own.

Good luck!
