A friend who lives in Dallas, Texas, wants to move to Florida to get away from her abusive & alcoholic husband. They have 2 daughters, ages 16 and 13. Can she move out of state with her girls and still file for a divorce from Florida without encountering problems regarding leaving and taking their daughters? The girls do not want to be with their father...

Florida law requires that she be a resident of that state for six months before she can file for divorce.
