Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

May I legally leave my son to my boyfriend who has been raising my son since birth, in my will? My sons biological father had never been in his life, and had nothing to do with my son. If I pass away, I don't want my son to be given to a man that is unfit to be a father. Just because he would be the biological father.

You can do it but it does not mean that your intentions will be followed.

I have added another "conservator" in such cases. It is rarely done but I have done it in the past. I'm going to do one now when the person gets me the correct info to file.

Talk to an experienced family law attorney.

I recommend you marrying him. Merely being a "boyfriend" is probably not enough.

Good luck!
