Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Marital Status

I was only married 3 years and I have been divorced now for 15 years. I would like to put single instead of divorced when I fill out forms and they ask for marital status. Are there any law(s) preventing me from doing so. I've been divorced for so long and I even went back to my maiden name 6 years ago. I do have a 17 year old son.

Re: Marital Status

If asked if you are single or divorced, you are divorced; as single implies never married.
