Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Married husband closed on house as single man.

Iam a married woman with one child. After my husband and I got married we built ahouse. My husband went to the closing alone and signed the papers as a single man. I later found the papers. I am concerned b/c he has two children by a previous marriage that live with their mother in the house he gave her in the divorce. Idon't know what would happen if something ever happened to my husband. Isn't there any legal problems with semms to me to be fraud?

Re: Married husband closed on house as single man.

You did not tell me one very important fact. How did your husband acquire the money to buy the house -- did he use inherited money, for example.

If the funds used to buy the house were community funds, then you are entitled to 50% of the home.

If the funds were his separate property, then the house is his separate property.

If you live in the Houston are, please give me a call. Be sure to let me know that you found me on lawguru.com

Good luck!
