Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Modifying child support amount

My wife and I were divorced in South Carolina. I now live in Texas (moving to Kansas in 2 weeks) and she lives in North Carolina. Where do I go to apply for a reduction in child support based on drastically differing income levels since my divorce decree?

The case is currently in South Carolina, and that is the court with jurisdiction. You might have been able to move the case to Texas, but there is no point, since you are moving. I do not know Kansas law, but would expect that there are residency requirements. You might want to repost your question to Kansas lawyers. It is likely that you will need to address this issue in the same court that issued your divorce decree.
