Parental Rights

My child has not seen nor heard from his father in 6yrs, for the 1st time he is spending the summer w/him in arkansas, my child stated he wants to live w/his dad now, do i have to let him and will i have to give up all parental rights if he does live w/him and will i have to pay child support since his father did not pay for 6yrs, can the be retroactive??

Just because a six year old "says" he wants to live with his Father does not mean that you have to give him up to the father. Since the father has had little contact with the child, I dont think a court would give custody to him, assuming that you do not have any negative factors to consider, ie. drug use, abuse ect.

If no order is currently in place, such as a divorce decree, then you can ask for one now and ask for retroactive child support back to the child's birth plus prenatal and maternity expenses.
