Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

properties in India

I bought land in India after my marriage. My wife is currently seeking divorce and is asking for a share in the aforementioned land. Are these assets subject to the divorce proceedings?.

Thanks,

I don't know about the law in MA, but sounds like a community property asset in TX. Good Luck.

Re: properties in India

Texas has no jurisdiction over land in another country.

However, normally the court will take this asset into account when the property is divided.

If you don't have an attorney, you need one ASAP.
