If i know my sons father wont be present for visitation do i have to let him go

This is a complicated question that requires far more facts than what's provided here. You have to be extremely careful not turning your son over for possession periods that belong to the other parent. Refusing to honor the court order could result in contempt proceedings that could be costly to you.
