step-parent adoption

I have not seen my ex wife or had contact with her in around 5 years. She also has court ordered child support in she has paid $1150 in the same amount if time. I dont care about the money, but my wife wants to adopt my son and the gov cant even find her. How do I go about terminating her rights and about how much should it cost to do both the termination and adoption?

You would have to serve her the papers by publication in the newspaper. The judge will appoint her an attorney which you will pay for. Publication costs about $500-$750. Her attorney will cost about $750-$1000. Your attorney will do the rest of the work probably for about $3000. Filing fees are about $200-$250.
