Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

Deportation

My brother was arrested and put in jail and removed from the state of New York for deportation back to Panama. He has lived in the U.S. for more that 27 years. Hw has also served time in jail for minor offense, but completed his time in jail. He was told to report to see his probation officer, when he was arrested ans take to Boston for processing. He was never givien due process and I feel that he deported as an illegal allien. without any advice, he was told he should sign to be deported and a wait a judges decision in Panama. My mom conpleted several immigrationpaperwork so that he could be allowed entry back in to th U.S. The country of Panama now say's that he will have to wait seven years for him to get a visa. So far, it has been 4 years. Was any law violated? They never asked for his green card, and his parrol officer thought that he was illegally in this country. Is there anything that we can do?

Re: Deportation

Did he have a green card? Was he given a removal hearing in front of an immigration judge? Did he waive it? What was the jail time for, and how long was it? There are many questions involved here that cannot be resolved easily. Has he has a lawyer involved in his case? If not, and you have waited four years, you may have waited too long. Get a complete copy of his file, and hire a lawyer to review it, and advise you on his options.
