Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

I asked a guy, at a private residence, if he'd like my business to blacktop the house's driveway (approx. 200 feet long). He said yes. After I completed my job, the actual owner of the house drove in and said the guy I originally spoke with did not have permission to let us work on the driveway because it was not his property or home. The owner refuses to pay a cent. The costs was $3300. Nothing was signed unfortunately, just a handshake deal (with the non owner). What can I do? Do I have a case?

You have an agreement with whoever this other guy was for work you performed. That's who has to pay you, except the owner of the house may have a claim against you for the work you performed if it decreased the value of the property.
