Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

My husband was terminated and unemployment denied. How do we fight it? They discriminated against him due to age and handicapped, harassed him at his job and then fired him for arguing with a supervisor about what he was told to do. They told him they tore up the write up when they found out he was right about the issue,he was not asked to sign nor did he see the write up. Then after he was fired they told Texas employment they had verbally warned him. How do we appeal.

Information about how to appeal the denial should have been included in the denial letter. If not, it is available on the Texas Workforce Commission website. Note that there are limited deadlines to file an appeal. I am also concerned about your husband's potential claims for discrimination on the basis of age and/or disability. He may have separate claims, aside from unemployment, for that disability. There are also deadlines for taking action on discrimination claims so if your husband seriously believes he was discriminated against on the basis of his age and/or disability then he should talk to an employment lawyer as soon as possible.
