Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Milage Reimbursement

My husband's company reimburses for mileage and he hasn't received a reimbursement check for a six month time period. This equates roughly to about $600-$800. He was given the run around for a long time - told one thing and then another. Upon finally reaching someone who listened to him, he was told since his boss' boss did not sign off on it - the paperwork for reimbursement is invalid. His boss no longer works there. His boss' boss no longer works there. Does he have any legal recourse? He did what he was supposed to do by filling in the reimbursement sheet. It's not his fault the higher ups didn't perform their jobs correctly.

He is probably out of luck even though he should have received reimbursement. He should have followed up much more aggressively. My guess is that company is having money problems.
