Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Salary and Job Level reduction

Performing in the same role with no changes to job duties, functions or responsibilities, can an employer lower the job grade by 2 levels resulting in @ $20K pay cut for an exempt salaried employee. This is a very large employer and it will only affect 3 individuals, all female over 40 & 2 are minorities. Those put into a new role keep same job grade & pay are all white males under or @ 40.
