Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

My apartment recently got broken into, and my rent money was stolen. There was also some damage done to the window and door from the break-in. The landlord has taken the money I did pay towards rent to fix the damage, and sent a letter to me yesterday saying I had to be out by the end of the day. Now I am left living on the streets. This all happened this week. Is there any legal action I can take?

That is all wrong. Your landlord cannot use your rent money to finance repairs to the property without crediting you for payment of the rent. Once you pay your rent your landlord can and should use the money for repairs but you do not owe for rent plus repairs unless your lease says so. Also, your landlord cannot kick you out in a day. You must be given notice and the landlord must obtain a judicial eviction before you can be kicked out.
