Legal Question in Military Law in Texas

Uncharacterized Entry level separation question

Years ago I reported to Navy Officer Candidate School. For various personal reasons I DOR'ed after 6 weeks and received an entry-level separation, an uncharacterized discharage.

Most law school applications require that I disclose an other than honorable discharge, am I required to acknowledge my brief period of military service? Thanks.

Re: Uncharacterized Entry level separation question

Depends on how the question is asked and what information is sought. But it's always best to be completely truthful and forthcoming about your past. Pay attention to the question. A question which asks whether you were ever inducted into military service would be answered in the affirmative. I'd simply acknowledge that you joined and withdrew from the commissioning program after a brief period of training.
