Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

(Cash Sale) What all do I need to do?

I am buying a lot from an individual, and have not had many real estate deals before. What all should I consider doing as far as legally getting the property to my name. Do I need a lawyer for paperwork, should I get a title search ect.

You should have a lawyer review the contract to purchase. Your lawyer will also contact a title company in order to have a title insurance policy issued, and to make sure there are no liens on the property that have been recorded. You should also check with the local planning and zoning, to ensure you can build on the property. As with all real estate transactions, you should definately contact a lawyer.
